I’m assuming you mean a roadster 5sp correct? If that’s the case that google search posted above is completely irrelevant as its for latter transmissions

I’ve looked at both rebuilding and buying one in the past 12 months and here are what I’ve seen and been quoted generally speaking
Unknown condition core : $700-$1000
Good known core that shifts easily $1200-$2000
Older rebuilt: $2000-$2500
Fresh rebuilt : $2500-$3500
Rebuild cost by Datsun Specialist: $1500-$2500

Good luck

Also have to take into consideration whether the tranny is a Servo box of a Borg-Warner box.

Wow, I knew I got a good deal on eBay, just didn’t know HOW good. I bought one last year that was rebuilt by CDM & still in the crate. $970 including shipping!

At that price I wonder what "rebuilt" meant/means.

Have you run it yet?

No. Haven’t yet. The fellow I bought it off had it rebuilt as a spare the. Decided to sell it. Looking through the drain hole & the exterior, it appears to be fresh. It was listen eBay as an auction. Only 3 bidders & I came out on top. I think the low price was that the seller had it listed for local pickup only. I asked if he knew of anyone who would take it to the shipper for me & he said he would for $75.

Peace,
Pat
