center caps for panasports

Post by johnscf »

My center caps fit fine on the rear wheels but don't seem to work up front. Anyone else have this problem? I actually broke off one tab trying to get them on.

This is a common problem, not only with Panasport caps. The front hub length+grease cap make it difficult for center caps to fully seat within the hub center bore.

What style cap are you using, there are "ribbed" and "hex style".The hex style are very shallow.

There are few approaches:
-compress grease cap so that surface is more flat
-use a rubber-type grease cap...this gives you a flexible surface unlike the rigid metal ones
-have a cap adaptor made to gain clearance
-lastly, if clearances allow, a traditional wheel spacer. I'd use this as a last resort.

adding pictures of panasport center caps up front:
For reference, the gigantic front hubs+grease cap

Black plastic (these are old, but super tall and have no issues:

Bore size is 73mm, the box says center cap is "70mm" for the black plastic caps

I would check with any of our authorized panasport vendors. Les Cannaday, Dean an at Datsunparts, etc. I don't know if the ribbed caps are still being made. Last, you can always contact panasport directly
