That 2nd Rotor picture sure looks like the Rotor may be shot with those deep grooves (or is it just uneven decolorization?) . More fun to come!

Yeah for the choke cable I went with the Shimano kit. Seems like great quality.

Re: Mackn367 - 67.5 SPL311
Just picked up my tach and speedo gauges from Jon Frampton today. As expected - looking very clean and high quality work! I’d say I’m pretty spoiled having his shop about 5 minutes from my house.
If you need restoration on your gauges: Jon Frampton at Global Tech Instruments. I believe he is on the approved vendor list too. Also the price was very reasonable. I’ll update again once I get them re-installed.

Re: Mackn367 - 67.5 SPL311
I haven't been on 311s as much but that doesn't mean I haven't been busy at work on the Datsun and having great fun runs
Most recent big change was the suspension. I went with the full Mike Young springs/Bilstein front and rear shocks along with the 23mm sway bar. To say I love it is an understatement.
After I finished the suspension work I went for a nice drive down PCH and took it to Laguna Beach. Then took some pics at "the top of the world". I know I need to cut the bump stops but even on the drive I didn't bottom out at all.
Some tips for the suspension work - make sure to have extra jacks. I also utilized zip ties to help hold up the sway bar. The installation was very straight forward - however I'd recommend having one more person help to lighten the load. It took me 3 nights to finish it all.

Yep, I would say the EI dizzy and the Bilsteins are the two top modifications you can do where you will say "now that was worth it!" The difference with the Bs is so clear that if I ever hit the lottery every Roadster owner on this site would be gifted a set... send me your winning lottery numbers!notoptoy wrote: Tue Sep 21, 2021 8:54 pm The bilsteins are transformative.

Yeah I totally agree with you. I would even add to that list getting the high torque shorty style starter. But then you start inching closer to that rabbit hole - well at least that’s what happened to me hahaGregs672000 wrote: Sat Sep 25, 2021 11:35 amYep, I would say the EI dizzy and the Bilsteins are the two top modifications you can do where you will say "now that was worth it!" It’s been a while but got another great update. Ordered custom Watanabe Wheels and got them installed. I even plan to make it out to Solvang! This will be my first year going to the Datsun Roadster event up there. Looking forward to seeing you all there.

I see two sets of spring perches. Did you need to replace them to fit the Bilsteins?

Yes they need to be replaced. But the kit is a plug and play so install was very straightforward.ADR wrote: Sun Mar 30, 2025 9:02 am I see two sets of spring perches. Did you need to replace them to fit the Bilsteins?

Thanks. It’s great coming back to the site and seeing so many still benefiting. I’m looking forward to Solvang this year to see a lot of us in person and seeing these projects up close.
