Year cut-off for Brass Synchro 4-speeds in 1600’s

Post by SP3 »

Planning on doing a Tranny fluid change and none of my local parts stores have GL-4 or a high quality brand. Ordering on-line but won’t have time to get under car to inspect for synchro type - brass or steel before the weekend.

Barring possibility that the original transmission to the car may have been swapped out by PO’s, if NOT the case, what was the cutover year for the synchronizer change?

Seeking to avoid having to pay return shipping to send a gallon of gear oil back to Summit Racing if I need GL-5 instead of GL-4 or vise-versa.
