Well it has started , and as expected from a 54 years old car that was painted twice it had some surprises ,nothing major but just didn't expect it to be the first panel  ,
Not looking forward to what they'll find on the front fenders especially the right one that I'm worried about :?

eye,
With a dolly, dinging spoon, and a shrinking disk, that is not really that bad.
Ask me how I know.

It's a shame that most body workers' first thought seems to be to slap the goop on, instead of doing a little bumping first.

Nick has been doing just that :D

No windshield/windscreen and I absolutely love it. Yes I plan to reinstall the windshield but I’m not in a rush. I literally pull up next to a police officer in multiple cities and nothing happens. I continue to use it as my daily driver unless it’s raining. Driving down PCH is such an amazing feeling——— but of course I never recommend it

Some progress made this week , the body shop is doing the work "in between" other jobs so patience is key but they're doing good work so I can't complain and I have enough side projects to keep me busy for a while

Rear fender was repaired and primed

Steering wheel is coming along great
Think that will hold?

Also got the window frames ready to send to chrome (I'll keep one set and sell the other most likely )

Basic shape was done with a router, finger grips and final sanding/shaping will be done by hand

Really loving how this is coming along
Just put 1 coat of varnish to seal the wood (still wet in picture ) while finishing the spoke and center, will be adding two more coats afterwards

That is looking really good.
How thick is the rim?
Looks like around 1 inch...much thicker than stock, which is a good thing, imo.
