rear valance

Post by epdatsun »

Question, did the SRL311, 2liter, have any kind of rear valance filling in the gap behind the rear bumper?

No, there's a little lip on the rear panel though.

A half-inch or so, span-wide, aft-ward, horizontal projection, aligned a half-inch or so below and under-lapping the top lip of the chrome.

So that's all there was. As i had said earlier. I have this old race of Al Gast's and you never know what has deleted. looks funny without the rear bumper. SCCA production classes requires that both front and rear valance be there even if you run an air dam. Bumpers may be removed. I'll try and get some oictures out if I can figure it out.
Thanks for the help.

Not sure what you are trying to change. Al's car (may he RIP) was legit, ready to race, and highly competitive.

I think Sam is just making sure that everything is legal and by the book as they are going to put forth a serious effort this year and things could come under scrutiny. The Prod rules are pretty complex. For those that don't know, Sam the new owner, was the one that prepped the car for Al.

Sam, I'm pretty familiar with these cars and the Prod rules too so you can email me with any questions, DatsunDoc@aol.com.
