BRE Datsun 240z Runs Daytona 24hr Race!

The BRE Datsun 240z made its debut in the Classic 24hr race at Daytona Speedway in November. Legendary racer John Morton and Co-driver Rob Fuller piloted the Z on the high banks of the 3.56-mile course clocking 156mph. Despite rain the duo climbed from 10th to 3rd place in class! Unfortunately Morton got tangled in traffic and the Z flipped but it is back at Z Car Garage for repairs!

The #46 BRE Datsun 240Z is back at Z Car Garage! You might recall that it flipped onto its roof at the 2019 HSR Daytona race. The body was fully restored and hand-painted livery is being applied this week followed by assembly. We will test at Sonoma with John Morton and Rob Fuller. Enjoy!

Not sure how I missed this back in 2019, but I sure enjoyed the article and race footage. One of the two model cars I did as a kid was this very car, many years before owning a Datsun. So glad to see her looking good and getting ready to take on all comers yet again.
