Hopefully I've not yet shared this one......R16 block (I checked the number stamp). U20 carbs. G15 slush box. I can't wait to one day open this one up.

Most probably an 1800 stroker - use the 1500 crank/rods in the 1600 with the 1600 pistons and you get about 1800ccs. Then add bigger carbs, because, well, why not.

Talked to a guy in Vancouver in the '80s who put U20 SU's on his 1600 and figured he got more power from it......
Popular thought ....bigger carbs, bigger headers....gotta be more power,....right?

Could be a stroker (3 main or 5 main?).....not likely with the 1500 transmission.

1500 trans doesn't make sense unless the 1600 trans was trashed and that was just what he/she had....

I don't remember the R block number but it was not a real low one so assume not a three main. I will open it up some day but there are projects that are more important in the barn that need to be worked on.
