I really dig both of these white cars. Yes, the white wall tires are different but I think they are consistent with the desired look of the car.

The latest is really nice and has a very clear and pleasing, classic upgrade look. Before reading that the owner had another Roadster project nearing completion, I was thinking he would regret letting that car go.

A set of wheels or at least painting the wheels silver and getting hub caps would greatly improve the looks. Side trim even if it’s just the stick on type would help as well. I can’t believe how much he spent on restoring that ugly hardtop, probably could of bought a new one for less! A few thousand on top of the selling price and you would have a very nice driver.

I've seen this car in person. It represents a unique direction for Roadster resto mods, but don't doubt the quality of the rebuild. The rebuilder has 70 years experience supporting all types of machinery and this was just one of his many project cars.

Best comment of the bunch:

“ Many spray cans of black paint were sacrificed to cover what looks to be a very rust-free chassis and underside. ”

Emphasis on ‘looks to be’...

I don’t get the comment saying this was one of the best ever on BAT. I think it’s far from it.
I remember when no one wanted the 1500s......

Agree. BaT is clearly tolerating shill commenters.

Based on the engine compartment alone, I'll bet this one has lots of gotchas.

Since I'm still new to Roadsters, what things in their pictures were of concern? Only thing that looked out of place was the small coolant lines.
Oh, is the grill behind the chrome supposed to be body color?

Behind the grill should be painted satin black. In looking at the engine compartment, I see an incorrect washer tank, a fuel T that is not correct - the line was cut and an aftermarket T installed, and an incorrect battery hold down. The battery hold down was most likely changed because group 53 batteries are tough to find and most places point you at a group 24. I don't see a lot to point to a bunch of gotchas. The plug wires are too long. It looks like someone tried to fix the car with parts available from the local parts store or unknowing vendors.

All that plus quite a bit of corrosion in the engine compartment, despite all the recent attention paid to the exterior (and some of the interior). The seller claims quite a bit more familiarity with roadsters than the results suggest, including his unfamiliarity with how he claims it drove. The driving video has become a staple of BaT 'verification', and the excuse for no posted driving video in this case was lame, to put it kindly. I wonder if it actually does drive. The registration sticker is from 2017.

First, I want to say, there appears to be really good craftsmanship in the upholstery, although the color of the vinyl wouldn't be my first choice. But...Is it just me ?...probably.... the thing that caught my attention, right off the bat, was what appeared to be the "upside-down" gear shifter boot.....Yikes ! ...I don't think that looks very attractive....no offense to anyone who might disagree :?
If that is the correct way to install that boot, then it's mine that's upside down. but I'm not inclined to change it, as I like mine much better the way it is.

That is upside down, but I understand that they live longer that way.
