Speedo to Sr/Ka hook up

Post by Mattk »

Okay swap guys I need some help. I trying to figure out how to hook up a Speedhut speedo to the speed sensor and the ecm. In a 240sx the signal go to the instrument cluster which appears to process the signal and then sends it to the ecm. Well at least thats what it looks like.

Question: Can I take the signal from the speed sensor straight to the ecm and straight to the speedo (lets assume that Im not using a GPS speedo.)? Or do I have to use a signal converter like the SGI-100BT from Dakota Digital? (https://www.dakotadigital.com/index.cfm ... rd1192.htm)

I need a speed signal for the ecm I have a habit of over complicating things

Following. I'm in the same exact situation in my KA swap. I'm leaning towards the GPS speedo at this point.

I used these cable drive parts on my S13 SR20 with the original speedo. Found on this site in 2012, but can't find it now.

Thanks Pat! That’s what I’m looking for!

Did you run the VSS to the sn74z from the speed sensor and then split it to the speedo and ecm?

Cheers
Matthew
