Autozone mirror mount for Pearl

Post by eye »

Didn't like the way the mirror was mounted on Pearl. The ball and socket with the little adjusting bolt kept getting loose and it eventually broke off. I found a mirror at AZ that is 9" and finished in black and had a good system to hold tension on the sockets and ball. There is a strong spring in the mounting tube pushing on thew balls so it never loses tension and keeps adjusting if it ever wears out.

Just chop off one of the balls, make a mount, and use the existing visor bracket. Works great if you don't care about original and can weld.

Thanks
It is a 1969 and the dash was totaled. I figured I could make one from scratch as easily as fixing or finding one. The dash is in 2 pieces and the fuse box and relays are on the right behind the curved panel that comes off. The Haltech is in the center behind the key start and brake bias adjuster.
The pedals and master cylinders( Wilwood) are inside the car under the dash. The little square panel on the cowl is to fill the master cylinders.
