Clutch.

Post by sunbeam590 »

Hi All,
My clutch slave cylinder packed it in, and after inspecting my clutch M/C as well, I decided to do the whole system, I was pleased to find my local Brake merchant could supply new M/C, visually identical to orig, just needed to shorten pedal rod 18mm, $45, also identical slave available, but decided to get mine Stainless lined..
M/C is Protex JB1200, 894689 5D C5, 5/8 as orig,
Posted as might be of interest....
Cheers..

Just make sure the "looks just the same" doesn't have metric fittings like the 510 ones. The SAE Roadster fittings are just a tiny bit smaller. They fit and tighten but you are only catching the tips of the threads. They can pop loose at any time with no warning. Bad news.

If things get to the point where replacement units are NLA, some Tilton units have the same footprint...
