Freshman Oil Question
Filter size for a 1970 1600 as well as preferred oil type and amount?

typical default works, just make sure you have the 'tube' installed.

See the Tech Wiki on 311s. From the 1600 manual located there oil capacity is 4.1 litres. Also, there is a list of oil filters there - see it here http://www.311s.org/pmwiki-311/pmwiki.p ... .OilFilter
As for oil type, choices vary but for warm weather driving, I use 20w-50. Lots of discussion on the oil type

Rope seal rear mains are known for leaking badly on just switching from the oil brand that was the norm.

From the research I've found, I've decided that Valvoline VR1 racing in a 20/50 weight is right for me. 10/30 would also be an option.
