Just prepping for the resto. I read Flare Wrenches come highly recommended for Brake work. Are there any nuts / fittings less than 3/8"? The three wrench sets I'm looking at start at 3/8 going to 11/16. Do 1/4 inch or 5/16 come into play on these cars?
Thanks

Re: SAE Flare Wrench sizes for 1967 Brake work
Chances are good that you will be replacing all of the brake lines. You can get a kit of pre-bent stainless steel lines with the fittings already on them or get the highly recommended nickel-copper line as I did which will come with plenty of fittings. I am pretty sure that the fittings are 7/16. A crowfoot wrench is very handy for getting old flare fittings apart when you plan to reuse them, but since that is really unlikely, I suggest that you hold off on getting special wrenches until you know that you will use them.

Re: SAE Flare Wrench sizes for 1967 Brake work
A set of flare wrenches is pretty inexpensive and will come in handy for other projects. I never (well, ever since I rounded off enough flair fittings in my younger days) approach a flair fitting without one. Pat is right, I don’t recall anything less than 7/16. If for some chance you ever need a size that’s not in your set then just buy it individually.

DO NOT BUY CHEAP FLARE NUT WRENCHES!!! Buy the best that you can find. The cheap ones spread open and screw things up.

True of any type of cheap wrench, particularly the smaller sizes.
