Great to have the roadster back on track after a four year hiatus! Even better to be with other great roadster friends and some new acquaintances. It was my favorite event, the VSCDA Elkhart Lake Vintage Festival. Though the extracurricular activites were slightly altered by the times, the track time was as fabulous as ever. Unfortunately, some undiscovered loose wires and a sticky carb seriously limited Friday and Saturday runs.
Thanks to my roadster and Datsun friends including Bill Wessel (gpdatsun) and others who persevered through the troubleshooting, Sunday was a full day.
Japanese cars (and pre-war British) were the featured cars (99% of which were Datsuns) which meant we had a separate feature race, and a gathering picture on the front straight. There was also a guy who makes race weekend videos doing interviews and takings lots of video of the featured cars and our roadsters. We felt like rock stars!
As usual, Bill ran fast and flawlessly and had a great time too.
Tons of pics at NoNameRacing.com, The Roadster Gallery, and here's a video of the Sunday group race. The race starts about 5:20:
