First post - water pump bearings

Post by TucsonJim »

Hello all:
First post by a new member.
Does anyone know of a source for water pump bearings or rebuild kit for a 68 U20 water pump?
This looks like it will be a great source for Roadster information.

Don't know where you can buy the parts, but this place did two of my pumps for $125 a piece. He may sell you parts.

+1 on that...I used him too. Great guy, great price, quick turn around.

I have one, I'll have to check its condition & which one I have. Rallye has a page showing the dimensions of the different ones. I should be able to find it tomorrow if you are still interested.

We rebuild pumps everyday, just shipped 2 more out this week. About 50% are not rebuildable due to poor quality impellers or corrosion.

Just like anything, you get what you pay for. These are not 125$, but they are better in every single way. Everything except the AL case is new. Typically built in 2-4 days:

Looks like my shaft won’t work for you. It’s listed as being for a 1600 pump. Nissan 21035 66001.
Dimensions:
Bearing diameter: 1.180
Bearing length: 1.535
Shaft diameter: 0.626
Long shaft length: 1.982
Short length: 1.310

This doesn’t seem to match any of Rallye’s dimensions.

I’ve had it for over 20 years. Box is rough & there is a 3/8” discolored spot at the end of one of the shafts that can be barely felt. It’s available if anyone wants/needs it.

Peace,
Pat

1600 and 2L bearings/shafts are different since the pump dimensions are different.
