So I recently got my car back from Mike, who has spent the past eleven months turning the jalopy that was my Roadster into a real car. And now that it's a real car, I find myself hesitant to leave it in the parking garage at the theatre. I figure a kill switch, or some such, would ease my mind a bit. What all have you done?
Wow, what an improvement. Looks great!
It’s already got the most sophisticated deterrent of all....a manual transmission!

Put a Geosky Alert in it. Then it will tell you if it moves, it will actively tell you where it is, and for a car like this even more important, it will tell you if the battery is starting to get low, so you can put a charger on it before you lose a battery..

Thanks Mike. That looks like a great little device.

Nice device, but personally I'd would prefer to have the thief never get the car started in the first place therefore not having to try and track it.

I'm thinking more than a single anti-theft device, so an actual kill switch is not precluded by one of these.

If he can open the hood or under steering column it's a alligator clipped wire to get ign. going jump the starter easy
A steering wheel lock bar stops many
And a proximity alarm/ chirp is good
Pull the coil wire if you think there's a high % chance
In 83 a woman next to our Datsun dealer had a niece that had a 82 300zx ...she was hot ...she came out to Hollywood to try her luck in the movies ,TV she got car jacked at a intersection

Then you want to move the battery into the trunk, and unhook it every time you park the car, and hope they cannot figure out how to hook a battery with jumpers to the starter..

could one not put a relay to the wire that goes to the solenoid?? with one that energised the coil??

Or a coil wire switch hidden under the dash. Door and Hood pin switches to horn relay. Nothing is foolproof but these are cheap first lines of defense.

I have a battery shut off in the trunk by the battery. good to have when you just need to quickly shut power off to all electrics, and a good all be it, limited stop theft device
