Big brake clearance

Post by redroadster68 »

Hi all
Has anyone done the Spriso Big Brake conversion for roadsters? I’m running 15X7 Rota RB with +12 offset. Has anyone done this conversion and used this exact wheel? I’m looking at the 26mm caliper/ rotor set up not the 30mm. Clearance is the question, spacers, longer studs. ?

It should fit. I ran the 30mm brakes with those wheels. If necessary, get a 5mm spacer. Make sure the studs are long enough.

This car has our 26mm 300ZX Big Brake Kit on it, and is running 16x7 VTO Wheels with a 12mm offset and there is lots of clearance with no spacers:

Hope this helps,

That is the exact setup I have on mine and no clearance issues at all. You will definitely have to run longer studs on the fronts as the stock ones are to short to fully engage the with the lug nuts.

Late to the party, but here’s what I’m running into. VTO LeMans 15x6, 24mm offset, and Michael’s 26mm bbk. My initial mock-up indicates I need at least 21mm of spacing between the hub face and wheel pad in order for the back of the spokes to clear the calipers. Doable, but not ideal. I’m wondering if I made a false assumption re: differences in how these particular wheels are designed in order to achieve different offsets (24mm vs 3mm).

Both the VTO wheels and Michael’s bbk parts are quality pieces; you won’t be disappointed!

We can also test fit your wheels onto my roadster with the Spriso kit and 26mm 300ZX calipers, but as mentioned above, with longer studs you should have no issues.
