These Cars are for love, not so much the Money- eBay results

Dang seemingly a steal and it made the reserve. Many pictures to judge for yourself. Makes me think twice to move forward on my 67 that been in the family garage since 1979. I'd like to break even after a few years of resto and driving, but I don't know that would be the case. Thoughts on the final price?

Yep. A fine car. I remember selling a lot of parts for his resto. Sorry to see that customer go.

Remember that bids on cars and real estate are non-binding....not a legal contract to buy, per Ebay policy.
So, it's not over til it’s over for these auctions....

Sadly-Linda has passed away 2022. She was the 311's den mother and drove the first Rare-Parts ball joint project. RIP.

Well I agree that the car sold under value, I’m not sure it was by a great deal. You really can’t tell much from the low resolution photos. According to the sellers description It sounds like it’s similar to a “Wheeler Dealers†flip. A few cosmetics and a minimal engine rebuild, didn’t even grind the valves! Nothing mentioned about steering or suspension. He has no confidence in the brakes, says “adequate for the periodâ€. My brakes are stock and seem almost as good as a modern car. We have been seeing these cars sell for big bucks on BAT recently, but those have had extensive restorations and probably have four or five times more money invested.

For me, my car is a hobby and something that I derive joy from. People similarly enjoy golf, do they “break even?†I have friends/family who spend waaay more on that than I will ever spend on my Roadster, and at least I will have an asset at the end of the day. This is what I tell my wife anyway.

If the body is as good as the photos make it look then that is a really good deal. The frame and associated parts need attention. I probably restored my frame for about $2k or so, cheap in my mind. The body not so much. If I ever buy another roadster for some insane reason I will make sure the sheet metal is good or has been rebuilt.
My driver I just got back was $10k to fix to fix the rust and get it to primer, about what they charged me on Monday for my new partial knee. Thank goodness for health insurance. The other car will be the same. Then I will have the paint job to pay for and they are not cheap. Between the hours of labor and the price fixing of paint I'm looking at $5k to $7k. All told I'll be in to the one car about $25k and close to $30k for the other. So if you can get a good body for $8k or so take it, I would.
