Gas residue below cap.
I am finding gas residue on my new paint under my gas cap after I fill the tank. I have the new rubber from Datsunparts.com for the cap. Maybe I didn't put it on correctly? Has anyone else had this issue?

That is funny, I took pictures of it before I took it apart, the PO must have had the same problem. Now all I have to do is put the tab on the correct side, or does it matter?

I don’t think that has anything to do with your fuel seepage.
Maybe you have too much horsepower, thus the extreme G forces are forcing the fuel past the seal
Seriously though, perhaps the tabs on the cap need to be slightly bent in so that it fits a little tighter.

After turning the tab upside down, it feels much tighter. I'm going for a drive and going to fill Mothra up first. I will post on the outcome.theunz wrote: Thu Sep 24, 2020 8:24 am I don’t think that has anything to do with your fuel seepage.
