Re: Seat Foam
Look similar to the ones on the Datsun Parts site.
I would like to have some firmer foam than what is currently on my seats as well.

Re: Seat Foam
These look to be the same as datsunparts.com which I put in my car last year. They are very good but are a very tight fit, even with new aftermarket covers. I highly doubt you could get these to fit under stock covers. The datsunparts.com price is quite a bit better, FYI.

Re: Seat Foam
Foam upholstery shops have any density you want.Or try a fabric store like Joanne’s.
The DIY option traditionally posted, is the electric carving knife and pieces of foam to carve up. With the seat cover on it shapes up well.

Re: Seat Foam
Yes I guess you can carve up foam. How much does the tool cost that is used to shape the foam and what is your time worth?
It would be nice to support those that paid for tooling and design. It encourages us to make the effort to make more parts for you, that is if you want more parts made for you to begin with.
We sell it for $320.00 a pair not $376.00 for 2 on Ebay. I would always ask actual shipping costs on these as they are paired in a large box.
www.datsunparts.com/1121 In stock as usual.

Re: Seat Foam
Carving foam is easy. A carving knife is around $15, check Ebay. Great for if you like to do things yourself, or you want a custom fit seat with more padding , less etc., or on a budget or whatever. And not like you will be carving a turkey with it. Just wear a mask.
I spend my money the way I want, and my time is worth whatever I decide. To each his/her own.
Roadsterwerx is Michael, a Datsun vendor not sure if he is listed here but he has been around for many years.
Enjoy the ride,
Linda

Gotta throw my 0.02 on the original ad. I can’t say anything on the item itself since I’ve never seen it/used it - but I have done business with that seller. Honestly I steer clear from them. You’ll also notice they aren’t on the preferred vendors list on this site.

Re: Seat Foam
Ever set in a early 80s Audi ?
My 83 5000TD had rubberized horse hair seats
Firm but comfortable on long trips ...it also had wavy springs full leather fronts
It is shot into a mold like fiberglass ....probably a lost art now

Like I said. We went through the entire design process, tested the product, had a year of agreed exclusivity, made this project happen and have the best pricing.Mackn367 wrote: Sat Aug 15, 2020 1:34 am Gotta throw my 0.02 on the original ad. No worries. It never occurred to me that the reference would be to me. Just stating our position on the product.Mackn367 wrote: Sat Aug 15, 2020 12:28 pmOh sorry Dean I wasn’t talking about you (your company) - I was referring to the original link to that eBay seller.Datsunparts.comInc wrote: Sat Aug 15, 2020 10:53 amLike I said.
