Got the races removed today after getting some long punches from HarborFreight. I had to tap about 10 times each side, just firmly before they popped out. Remarkeably easy after all the anxiety about it. Such is life as an amateur

Still waiting for the shipping -delayed bearings

You are much more diligent about the cleaning than I was, Linda. I gave the areas where the races sit a quick wipe down and that was about it. :D

So, I had done the drivers side the other day and tackled the pass side tonight. To my chagrin, I found that the little clip that rests below the brake pads within the caliper bracket had stuck to a pad and started to slide into my rotor. I now have a nice (pretty deep) groove along the inner edge of the rotor that looks like a machine shop had stuck it on a lathe. Looks like I’ll be in the market for some new rotors. Boo hoo! 😩

Not good, Matt :( Maybe someone has a good used one for you.
On the races, do you install them with a little grease or dry?
thx

I put a light coat on the outside before installing.

While waiting I cleaned up the hub some more with Rust Converter.
