Hood Side Bumper Installation

Post by Rutty »

Has anyone installed the four triangular hood bumpers that go on the sides of the engine bay opening? The only way I can figure to get them in is to pull them in from the backside because the barb is so aggressive. Pushing them just pinches the barbed area between the bumper and the body.

Thanks!

Push in from the top but use some hand dish washing detergent as a lubricant

I trimmed mine a bit, soaped it and pushed, pulled through with needle nose.

I used die-electric silicone grease on the nub. Took a 1/4" wooden dowel, sharpened it in an old-fashioned pencil sharpener, and used it to push the nub in the hole.
