'69 2000 in CA

Post by RonnyB »

I just took possession of this 1969 2000 and am happy to have found the forum! The car has been in my wife's family since 1972, but has not run since 2014. I changed all the fluids and it started! I'm looking forward to getting it back to it's former glory. I hear they are a blast to drive! Please give me all the advice and suggestions necessary to make the process as enjoyable as possible. I am especially interested in the do's and don't of roadster restoration!

Well, that question covers a lot of territory.
Do...drive it awhile so you get to appreciate the driving experience it offers.
Do... be careful not to lose or damage ANY parts you remove. Some are irreplaceable or expensive.
Do...devise a plan for your restoration. It’s time consuming and expensive to change course midstream.

Don’t...bite off more then you can chew. It’s better to do a few things right rather than half arse the whole project.
Don’t...hesitate to ask specific questions. We are all happy to help no matter how often the same question has been asked.

Old enough to know better, too old to remember why!
