2000 SU Carb Service Screw Thread?
My service screw head is jacked from the previous owner and years of use (I imagine). This is a '69, so the thermo fuel valve thing is in the way of getting good access to the head, which has probably what accelerated the destruction of it. I'd like to replace or make a new one, but with the thread testers I have on hand I haven't found the exact pitch that matches. Can someone shed some light on this for me?

Here is a image from the wiki write up of the 2 liter service screw. I'm just looking for help identifying the size/thread pitch of that screw.

Hmmm...oddly enough that does not match the screw size/thread in my carb...??? I wonder what’s up with mine if that’s the correct size?

It may be 5mm x .75 . I would have thought these later ones would be .8 but they could be the earlier .75. I do have a 5mm x .75 die and can reproduce these.

Would you be willing to cut me a replacement? 0.75 pitch is not common for sure. I'd have a hard time finding existing hardware out there with that thread [I'd image]. Although I'm sure it exists.

Let me root around. That is an obsolete thread pitch that you will not find unless someone has had them made.
I rooted. The three I have are all m5x.8 . A m5x.8 screw should be easy to find. The threaded hole in your lever may have been buggered. I can provide the service screw and the lever if that is what is needed.

Let me take a closer look at the lever & screw threads and I'll get back to you. Thanks for the help!

Re: 2000 SU Carb Service Screw Thread?
So I confirmed it that the screw itself (threading) was jacked up as well. It still thread into the lever, however the female thread on the lever IS M5-0.8 confirmed by a new screw of that pitch. Thanks for your help, but I think I have things sorted out.
