soft top

Post by C.Costine »

I am preparing to install my new soft top. It seems that the very front edge of the front bow is very sharp. This is the case on the three front bows that I have, two from low windshield models and one high windshield. It seems that the vinyl would not last being on the front edge and being on such a sharp edge yet none of the three have deteriorated there. Does anyone put anything there such as electrical tape or a strip of vinyl upholstery to blunt the edge a little?

The original tops came with a plastic channel that went over the sharp edge. It would be good to add a protective cover to the sharp edge to avoid damage to the top material.

Like some thin vinyl door edge stuff that you can get at Autozone or PepBoys.
