Brake Brace for 1965-67 Roadster - Single Brake Master Cylinder
Wondering if anyone makes a Brake Brace for 1965-67 Roadster - Single Brake Master Cylinder? I know there are several varients available for the later cars with the Dual Brake Master Cylinder, but are there any available for the earlier cars?
Thanks for any leads / suggestions.

Re: Brake Brace for 1965-67 Roadster - Single Brake Master Cylinder
I made my own for my 65 1500, similar to the high windshield style. It helped a lot and I made one for a friends 64 1500.
In 66, the firewall was changed to make that area much stronger. I don't think the cars that got the stiffer firewall have a problem.

It is a strange shape. It had to go around/between things.

Resurrecting an old post, do you happen to have dimensions of hole spacing and the general size of the brace (external envelope)? Also, what thickness of material did you use? Thank you.

One more question: Does it mount in the engine compartment or on the inside where the pedals mount? Thanks!

Actually there is one being worked on which should be available sooner than later. I will let the fabricator chime in if he or she chooses to. My 66 has a piece of tin covering what I am certain is a cracked firewall. Will be nice to have this option for the earlier cars.

I don't know if this will work on the earlier firewall but this is what I did many years ago.
A upside down u-channel welded to the ledge and firewall.
Took a lot of hard braking thru the years and never had a crack/s appear.
Got pretty dirty thou.
Cheers

I’m in process of building the prototype right now, it’s going to be available soon. I have experience with this type of project as I designed the dual master cylinder unit back in “86†for my 69 2000.

There was a piece designed for the engine side at one point to reinforce over any cracks
