Rubber coated tabs in engine bay / on frame
What have people used to replace the black rubber coating on the bendable tabs in the engine bay & on the frame that hold the wiring harnesses? Is there some type of paint-on rubber that does a good job of replicating what was there from the factory? I thought about plasti-dip, but thought I'd see if someone else has already discovered the best thing to use. I searched several terms on the forum, but couldn't find anything.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Liquid filled double wall heat shrink does an amazing job for this. A quick blast with the heat gun and it looks better than new...

Thanks, Michael! I searched for that online, and I seem to only find "adhesive lined" double wall heat shrink. Is that the same thing?

There are many names, but yes, you want the adhesive lined product. It is also known as heavy wall heat shrink-- I would get a kit like this:

I used a clear plastic hose. I like the idea of the heat shrink though.

Perfect. Thanks again, Michael. If it's good enough for your beautiful creations, it's good enough for my beater!

Just be careful with the heat gun when you install it, not to overheat the paint, I like to wave it around, not just staying in one location.

These fit perfectly right off the bat, are made for this very purpose, and look great. They come in every size to fit every tab in the Roadster.

My '67 has nothing on any of the tabs. Is it supposed to?

Re: Rubber coated tabs in engine bay / on frame
Does anyone have a map of the use of all the tabs under the hood on a 67.5? The main tabs I am trying to figure out are the tabs on each side of the hump on the firewall down low. I think they might be for the battery to starter cable.
Also, on the left side of the engine compartment on the horizontal flat at the bottom of the body, a bit ahead of the fuse box. I don't see anything that lines up with it. Brake line is nowhere close.
Peace,
Pat
