Hello. I'm here to make bad financial decisions.
Hi all. Long time Datsun enthusiast, first time 311 tinkerer. I'm here because a good buddy has peaked my interest in the Roadster, and I want to learn more. Based in California, I'm most interested in a cruiser (rather than a racing restomod). I hope to get into one of these sometime soon. In the meantime, my primary joy maker is a 1972 240Z.

It’s not really a bad financial decision if it’s reasonable legal and moral and it brings you pleasure
Welcome aboard there’s nothing we can’t answer, if necessary someone will make something up!
There is no other place with anywhere close to the roadster knowledge that you will find here.

Hi! No the 240Z is not stock, however, I've owned several S30s in stock condition. I was tired of everyone else having all the fun.
I'm in the central valley / Central Coast area.

Re: Hello. I'm here to make bad financial decisions.
I strongly suggest a car with a 5 speed (stock on the 2000's) for cruising.

Yes, the F4W71A four speed standard in the first gen Z cars was a major disappointment to those of us (owners and auto journalists alike) accustomed to the overdrive 5th and (just as important) spring loading of the FS5C71A fitted to the 2000 roadsters, which eliminated the "vague" shifting of the Z cars, and prevented accidental shifts into the first-second or fifth-reverse shift planes during power- and speed-shifting.
