Hey guys my interior (black) is showing some signs of aging...what i want to do is put some sort of polish/ cleaner that would bring that black back to life...kind of like polishing ur old shoes. What do u guys use or reccommned? Thanks in advance!
I use Maguires Vynil Reconditioner and Cleaner. Stuff seems to work great, brought back a lot of life into the color. Makes it a little shiny at first, but that wears back down to semi-gloss black. Also, seems a little slippery on the seats, might have silicone in it. But again, after a short drive, all felt fine again.
There are probably a lot of opinions on this subject. Most suggest against ArmorAll, saying that if you stop use, your vynil will start cracking. I don't know if the Maguirers stuff has the same active ingredient, but I like the way it looks/works, and have had no problems with it. I'd guess I treat my interior 2-3 times a year with it.

Hey Joe have u ever used or heard of using a black colored polish type to bring out the color even more? I bought this vinyl/leather conditioner that seems to get the stuff glossy but it didnt get rid of the hazy cracks in the leather.
I know there are plenty of vynil dyes out there. You could change your interior from red to black if you wanted to. I have no personal experience with the vynil dyes though, and I'd assume that you can only go darker. The only person I know that used the stuff turned his blue interior to black on his P1800, and 3 years later, it still looks great. I have been thinking about re-dying my BBQ cover, it has some weird mold stains on it that don't want to come off.
As far Leather goes, I don't have any personal experience. I have polished a pair of leather shoes, but that's about it. And I don't think you'd want to use shoe polish on seats.
Whether it's leather or vynil, I'm sure there is dye for it, and a colored polish is probably pretty much the same thing, but with carnauba or something similar added. But again, I'm a carpenter, not a chemist.

Whatever you use, wear old clothing or sit on a towel for the first few rides incase it bleeds. For real leather, use Lexol, can get it at high end car dealers. For vinyl, I've used the spray vinyl paint, as long as the vinyl is REALLY clean it sticks and lasts. Spray Nine and a brush, lots of water and let it dry thoroughly. You have to spray the whole seat or feather it to match. I did a motorcycle seat, looked factory. Went from wierd brown and white swirly pattern (funky '70's Triumph chopper)to semigloss black.
