Christmas/Hanukkah/Festivus gift ideas for the Roadster Owner

Post by jhayden »

First off, I believe this is the 10th anniversary of this thread started by Our Fair Lady of Fairladys (aka Linda), so this is not an attempted hijack. She has annually invited suggestions from owners for gifts “NOT engine parts but rather a neat auto accessory or neat auto related item.” (She has usually re-posted this invitation by this time, so that’s the only reason I am doing it now.)

Here’s mine for this year, and it won’t set you back a princely sum:

A high-tech velo light clipped to the inside of your trunk lid. Even if your hazard lights are functional, a flashing bike light clipped near the top of your opened trunk lid during an emergency stop makes your car much more likely to be noticed by oncoming drivers who can wipe out you and your roadster faster than you can say, “Motobecane.” The photo shows one model (Planet Bike Superflash) which has stayed in the trunks of both our SRLs for years. In fact, ours should be updated – any suggestions from 311s members who are also diehard velo riders?

Be safe and celebrate life during this Christmas season.

Jon

Nice idea, the Superflash tubo model with dual mode should provide meaningful trunk lighting for non emergency situations and the flashing mode for the the side of the road breakdowns.

How old are the seat belts in your car? Many great choices for renewal are available, and my most recent choice is posted in TJP's thread "What did you do TO or FOR your Datsun today."

I asked for Sin City’s cool key box for Christmas, so I was...let’s say, somewhat less than enthused when I received this from one of my “adult son’s”
