Happy to see this thread bumped. I have seen and heard JT's twin-pipe resonator on Peter's '67.5 and it is impressive:

Thanks Alvin, Yes, we make then in small batches. They don't sell very often, but are very nice for the early cars. We'll do a few and update the webpage. Just pm if you would like one.

Do they sound much different then the megaphone model?

A little more mellow since the sound waves get redirected more at the exit. The megaphone is probably several dB lounder if you are behind the car I would expect.

Did the late 1600's come with the twin pipes or the megaphone?

Megaphone for all the later cars. Like many things the transition occurred around 67.5. Some early 67 2L's had these too, but most were meg.

If you change the rear support (we have those too), the twin pipe will fit any year. Just bolt on parts, no cutting/welding.
