Registry Update
Registry Update
After several years of off and on attempts I was finally able to get the old HTML based registry moved into the database driven registry. When I first started the registry I was told I would be lucky if I got 50 cars. There are close to 3000 entries from all over the world so that mark was surpassed a long time ago. I have removed the link to the old registry. I know there is a lot of bad info in the registry since people have sold roadsters or life events have happened. People have restored or made major modifications to their cars. The new registry is pretty easy to use with a lot of drop down boxes. I tried adding everything I could think of but if you see something missing let me know and I will add/fix or what ever it takes.
Please use the search function to find out if your VIN is already listed as there is no builtin check for double entries. They are easy to clean up if you do boo boo by an admin. There is a limit of one picture for your entry which must be 500 KB in size. 640 x 480 is a web friendly size. Make it a good one. There is a link section where you can put the web address if you have an online photo album or your own website. We have a photo gallery here on 311s.org as well which you could link to. It would be nice if folks put their email address in as well. As an example mine is 67datroad@311s.org-I put in 67datroadat311sorg. People whom have not registered on the forum will not have access to the registry so it is not like the info will be available to the world wide web.
If you have any problems just ask me for help. I am always willing to try to resolve any issues. I may put a form that would be available where folks could enter their information and then i can input into the registry. That was the way the original registry was implemented. The problem was I had to manually create the HTML page which was a time consuming process. Now all I would have to do is enter the data and be done. I guess I am thinking out loud. You use the registry entry page Adam made to view your entry as a web page. Thanks Adam for helping with that-much appreciated.
Any way-please give it a try and provide feedback positive or negative. Please update. Thanks.
Steve
PS There are still a few things I need to cleanup but overall we are ready to roll.

Re: Registry Update
Thanks Steve, few people realize how much work goes into this amazing resource, the entire forum, not just the registry. I for one sincerely appreciate the hard work and resources you pour into this amazing “toolâ€!

You are using the incorrect links. They are defunct and I will be removing them. If you follow the link on the forum it will take you to this.

Re: Registry Update
It also looks like quite a few pictures are not showing up. I believe this has to do with the size issue.

Re: Registry Update
I still need to fix some of the pictures as they did not cross over. Some of the Ebay pics I will not have.

Re: Registry Update
It is on the new registry home page at the top.

Looks like this.
Plus, when you are logged into the database itself there is a robust search tool but it is much harder to use than the one above. You can filter by any of the fields such as last name, VIN Number, ect. For the computer challenged I would stay with the search page on the Registry Home page.
I did create a guest registry view page on the main website so folks whom care not to join 311s.org can search and view the registry. I will eventually have an input form they can submit to get their roadster entered into the registry. Until I get that done they can email me the info directly and I will add to the database.
