i'm trying to get u20 w/solex to idle down... i've got it set at 20btdc and screw the pilot screw all the way down and backed off one full turn each... the throttle stop is adjusted at contact... but the motor still races at 3+k rpm... i've check for vacuum leaks but everything seems to be fine... any thoughts?
You need to ajust the throttle stop on the linkage. It is mounted on the carb body itself. It sounds like it is cranked down a few turns. If I remember correctly, it is on the front carb. Also check to make sure your accelerator cable is free moving, and the throttle return springs are attached and working.

I don't think the pilot jets are the problem. You could try to screw the pilots down so they are closed and back them out from there. The last set I did I think I had 2.5 turns from closed on all the pilots. I think something is holding the butterflys open. Try disconecting the balljoint linkage from the cable pull and see what happens.

thanks everyone...
after closer look and checking every nuts and bolts...
i found the problem...
turns out that the linkage that links both carbs does not line up...
thus, the rear carbs could not close all the way...
that explains 3+K rpm...
thanks again to all who replied =]
take care...
