Re: Today's Progress
Linda installled one in the top hose from the radiator with the guage inside next to the radio console - unobtrusive and I guess she is still happy withy it.

Re: Today's Progress
Shouldn't the sender be installed before the thermostat for more accurate readings, what if the thermostat fails, you might not know it until it was too late?

Re: Today's Progress
Is the gap correct on the headlight bezel, seem's like a large gap. Picture is not the best, and I haven't cleaned the metal yet. But need to know if I need to do any work to the fender, it looks like it is untouched with no damage to it.

Re: Today's Progress
It is hard to tell from the pics, but it appears to be the same as my '67. I just put LEDs in them and there is now a wider gap. I will have to go back later and clean up the buckets and the stainless steel retainer rings.bossbob wrote: Sun Jun 30, 2019 1:31 pm Is the gap correct on the headlight bezel, seem's like a large gap. Re: Today's Progress
Mirror placement,
What I believe to be the original passenger side fender has whole's for the mirror up toward the front of the fender, my replacement fender for the drivers side which is either a 69 or 70 has the wholes just under the antenna hole. In my mind I kind of think I will like the staggered mirror look.
Question is, is this kind of normal, has anyone done this, or does anyone have any input or pictures so I can see before I finish the body work.
Thanks again

Re: Today's Progress
One of my roller tires had it's last day holding air, figured I would by what will be used as the spare tire. So, what size tire is best for the spare on a stock rim?
Thanks again.
Thanks again.

Re: Today's Progress
I have most of the body roughed in and primed, just the hood and drivers door left. Still will need to go back and block it and smooth it out for primer and paint.
I have to imagine that California paint isn't all that good compared to other paints, so my question is, where is a good place to online to buy automotive paint. There are so many. Please let me know who you recommend or who to stay away from.
Still haven't decided on single stage or base/clear.

Re: Today's Progress
No secret Simon, the car is originally silver, so I'll probably stay somewhat true to that, maybe a metallic silver, or gun metal silver, something a little darker than original. But until I actually buy the paint, anything can happen. By the way, the battery you gave me is still holding up, only needs a charge after sitting for a few months.

Haha that’s amazing! I hope my fancy new battery will be good after sitting dormant for the last 9 months

Check shipping for your state. Some do not allow paint and chemicals shipped, small print.

Re: Today's Progress
So, last night I'm watching Ian Russel on Full Custom Garage and he is at the Pomona swap meet which I used to go to all the time. Across the screen this little roadster show's up.
I am 98.883% sure this is the car that inspired me to get another roadster as I saw it there about 3 years ago. This is what I drove in high school, prior to getting into mustangs, albeit, not nearly as nice.
Anyone here own this or know the owner.

Re: Today's Progress
How should I address this, scrape it off and apply something else? Clean, prime, and paint over it? Apply fresh sound deadener over it, maybe a paintable material so I can match it to the body color.

Re: Today's Progress
If it's still well adhered then I would just clean it up, add some on any places that are bare, primer and paint. While you could strip it off etc, why? You're just more likely to mess with the metal underneath to no advantage that I can think of.
