Engine of the Week Video : U20
Randomly stumbled upon this video about the U20 and though it’s kinda boring and a big advertisement it was cool to hear them collaborating with JT!
Hopefully JT can she some more light on the results of the build

I would love to hear this run and see some dyno numbers. This high quality work may build a following from Roadster owners wanting similar builds.

Forklift???
Is there confusion between the H20 and U20?
They didn't mention any timing control but having raised the compression by 3 full points, and a lumpy cam, I'd think timing control would be paramount.

Re: Engine of the Week Video : U20
What! Someone out there has nice things to say about the "boat anchor" U20? (That's what I was told it was good for 33 years ago by the local Nissan parts department). So nice to see, and I agree it would be great to see what the result was on the dyno. And yes, no offense but that's no fork lift crank (forged steel, fully counter-balanced)! Kinda surprised they didn't mention the head much, as if they had flowed it they would have been impressed, but their role was to build it. Glad they were able to hook up with JT... did they end up using his pistons or was it a joint effort? And there are a few other cam options out there than A, B, or C, but I'd love to see what they came up with. Chevy valves are nothing new and in the past were not particularly light, but they work. I wonder what they did to the crank and oil pick up however as apparently they found some weakness worth addressing.
I think the "3 points" of compression increase was really .3, to near 10 to 1 vs 9.5 to 1, and a good stock system with 92 pump should be fine. I'm at 11.7 to 1 and I'd advise against that for the street, as even with very careful timing via the megajolt it's a battle on 92 pump sometimes... timing has little to do with detonation.
I'm sure that motor will do a lot more than 95hp to the wheels. Sounds like a great build and I bet the owner is overjoyed! Congrats to all involved!

Nice find Simon! I'm very curious what the specs are on the build. Maybe the owner will come on the 311s and give us some more details. As always - kudos to JT for all he does to help the Datsun community!

Re: Engine of the Week Video : U20
What's the point of all the work getting the damper and other Chevy bits on the front of the engine?
