Really?? We're going to have to do a takeover. Ive met quite a few guys actually in the area, but don't think they are active. There's one I see cruising around sometimes. White 67.5 SRL conversion.Poobah wrote:Hi Roman,

Been around the roadster internet stuff long before guitars forums.
Years ago started a rodster registry, and turned it over to Steve when he started this place. I remember when it was all mailing list....as in your metal mailbox. Then the email list came out. Good god, now I feel really old

Well at least I'm not as old as Sid.

Who are you on the forum? btw, thanks for your interest in my work.

No Greg, Sorry I missed you and everyone else. I was going to go, but changed my mind. The mood I was in that weekend it would have just bummed me out instead of inspiring me.Gregs672000 wrote:Roman, did you come to Shasta? If so, sorry I missed you!
Tis a pity, because I'm 45 minutes away. But I decided Until I drive up in a roadster....I aint going.

At least 35, seeing how you are so much older than I, that would make me like 27.spl310 wrote:Just how old do you think I am?

Well, a small step forward but a step nontheless.
Tonight, put my hood back on. Took forever realigning it, cause I took the wonky hinges off and replaced them with good ones.
Hey, it aint no SR swap, but its something.

Re: Resurrection of my 66 primer king.
Ressurection part two???
A few old timers welcomed me back when I resurfaced after a few years being gone. I thank you all for that.
But with the exception of a few, most don't know or care.
Which is fine.
I haven't been active in the roadster scene for many many years.
Back in the day, I lived, ate, and breathed roadsters and once had three running cars at the same time.
Ah, but times and life situations change.
This thread is the perfect posterchild for how NOT to restore a roadster.
Without a plan, without resources at hand, just taking one apart often results in it being nothing more than a lump of parts.
This car has been apart since.......wait for it....... 2000.
Yup 19 years. I'm suprised I even still have it.
It's ironic but an 8 year old has motivated me to at least log onto the forum and post
Got the daily driver honda stolen last week after dumping 1200 into it for a cat, o2 sensors, smog, and reg. Two days later.....gone.
Boy was I pissed when it was recovered trashed and stripped.
My daughter just says, its ok dad, we just need to finish your 'racecar' (that's what she's always called it)
God bless her youthful ambitious enthusiasm.
Well I'm gonna give it a shot and try to finish it off.
We have lovely roadster roads up north here. Would be fun to drive them.
So it's down to finish it or sell it off. We shall see.
Wish me luck.
And refer to this thread to find out how NOT to embark on a roadster resto. Funny thing is, I'm an old vet in the roadster game. I should know better.

Re: Resurrection of my 66 primer king.
Roman! Like a mighty Redwood your Roadster roots go deep. Sorry to hear about the Honda... one of THE most stolen cars... gotta love people eh? Artists and the like are often not the best at planning, and have different strengths they bring to the scene, but don't worry, you have the knowledge and skills necessary for success again! What do you need? I don't have a lot of parts, but perhaps if you post a list our vast family can help gather together what you need to get you behind the wheel and not just in the driveway
. Years ago you took it upon yourself to send me a section of decorative metal for the front of my airdam, and I would be happy to return the favor to help put a smile on your face. Life can suck sometimes... We're going through a rough season ourselves right now, and the biggest relief is the Datsun and an open road. If I can help, I'm in.

Re: Resurrection of my 66 primer king.
Roman! Great to hear from you.
Let me know if any parts in "the stash" at my house would help your effort. They are primarily high screen (69) parts, but let's see what fits.
Don't feel bad, mine is still running, but I have yet to paint the hood/trunklid, which I have been talking about for about.... 15 of the 19 years owned, give or take. My girls are 14 and 15 (note the numeric similarity...) and have a tendency to "re-prioritize" things o a regular basis.
