Pricing Advice on wheels ~ Empi ~

Post by zetec311 »

hi, I needed some pricing advice on a set of wheels.

They are Empi eight spokes, GT model i think.14” x 6”, 4x 114.3
the finish is natural oxidized, but very presentable. I will try to clean them up a bit and polish prior to sale. The fitment on a datsun roadster is great, no idea on the offset, but it clears the volvo calipers up front. includes four center caps (one is damaged) and the 16 mag wheel lug nuts.

Ive heard they are a bit rare for this fitment and would like to keep them but i don’t have a garage nor space. so begs the question... whats a fair price? please include some suggestions and “haggle room” on pricing, thanks.

I paid $600 for them originally. I ran tubes as the leak would never go away. They are rare wheels.

The are not supposed to be polished, they are supposed to have the cast look.
I remember when no one wanted the 1500s......

Replacement O rings are available as are center caps, though not quite shaped as the originals, but close. A couple of my lug nuts were stripped and I could not find proper replacements anywhere and I went to great lengths to fit lug nuts with a bigger shank. Anyone needing a few originals can have them for shipping cost. The spokes respond well to bead blasting, just mask off the polished rim first. I would guess about $400 as they are $500 to$600 if restored.
