Re: What did you do TO or FOR your Datsun today?(Roadsters only)
Yes, highly tuneable. You can use light gas (5-15lbs) just to prevent gas bubbles/cavitation..we've done this for softer, more compliant ride or for bad roads.
70-90psi wil definitly firm things up.
I have not personally used higher pressures, but Bilstein says 200-250psi is not a problem. So you can tweak to your preference.
As you make the rear more stiff, you will make the car more neutral steering (closer to oversteer).
Always use nitrogen rather than air to prevent cavitation.

The 67.5 that I was driving in the late '60s-early'70s, in the last months, developed a similar noise above 80. If it is not driven for too long that way, shouldn't it require new bearings only?

Re: What did you do TO or FOR your Datsun today?(Roadsters only)
My friend David decided he wanted exactly the wheels and tires that I had, so he bought mine and I'll order new. I'm still a few years from running so it makes sense to get these on the road. Seeing them on his car (I'm likely to go a pearl white too) really makes me happy with the choice. So now my roller is using his stockers.

Shop looks great. It is nice to have a space to work in and a clean space is even better.

New lights are really uplifting. Was becoming quite gloomy just walking in the door.
My shop vac weighs about 90 lbs lol.
Also Replaced some water damaged sheet rock, and painted the "booth". More pics when the lights are in on that side.
Anxious to roll the rotisserie in there and get to work, while im in the mood to paint lol.

Blasted the 5 speed drive line to take in and get rebuilt, blasted and painted the 5 speed spacer, and blasted one of the wheels that was mistakenly powder coated white and put silver on it. Looks great with the rechromed hubcap.

Re: What did you do TO or FOR your Datsun today?(Roadsters only)
Today I started the process of removing the drivers side rockers forward of the jack point. I will be creating a bucking die to create new rockers and rocker caps. I use a software where I input a bunch of photos of the item I want to create a 3d model of, and after I scale the model 1:1 to real world dimension I slice it up in Fusion360. I then create gcode in the CAM section to send the gcode to my CNC router to cut out the Die in section from hardwood stock.

If you are willing, I would be interested in the buck for the inner rear rocker. Mine is completely rusted out on the passenger side. It actually looks like the front and rears are close to being the same. Guess you will find out soon. Either way I will be making that rear piece for certain. A hardwood buck would save a ton of time. Thanks.

Yeah, I will be finding out how similar they are very soon. Good thing is it seems the drivers and passenger sides are for the most part mirrors of each other in the rocker and floor pans up until the trans tunnel bump on the pass side.S Allen wrote: ↑Mon Jul 15, 2019 8:00 am If you are willing, I would be interested in the buck for the inner rear rocker. Wiring in the morning and did some of my hardware in the afternoon. Turned rust in to shiny.
