I'm with you. But consider these points, non-Nissan engine and mounting concerns aside:
-The F20C makes 240hp, stock. It is much newer.
-You have to "create" an SR20 VVL; a FWD cylinder head must be swapped onto your RWD block. It's not a stand alone engine

Funny to see this post as i actually now own an S2000 and a roadster. In fact, i bought the S2000 off another roadster owner. haha. Its a pretty awesome combination if i say so myself.

My only concern with the F20 is the cast aluminum oil pan that sits LOW... I have heard that rock strikes on a cast aluminum pan can cause issues..

Canton makes a high capacity steel racing pan for the F20C/F22C. I'm fooling with the F20C now to learn about building them for a race car.

Hondaman! Good to see you on 311s finally!
I've admired your car since I first saw at Solvang a few years ago.
Please start your own build thread we would love to see how you restored your roadster!

Nicely done. I like the original Datsun engines in these cars but I have to admit I've always thought the F20C would be a nice fit and fun in a roadster given the engines power band and the lighter weight of a roadster over the S2000. I'm sure it's fun to drive.
