Re: ACOTE's 68 2000
Been busy. Got the Koni's adjusted and installed finally.
Side windows and weatherstripping installed. And got my lemans installed with falken 195/60r14 tires.
They can polish up Very nicely, this is just after a quick scrub. I'll have to come back to it later. Mover's are coming to ship my stuff tomorrow.
Little bigger than the 185/60. which I thought looked too small.
Before example:
After:
Beauty shots after installing the caps. Whole car still needs more polishing. I should have more time this weekend.

Re: ACOTE's 68 2000
It's coming along. Very happy with everything, not show quality but a nice driver, which is good for me as I'm not careful enough yet. Already have a few chips/scratches learning reassembly care.
My wife and I are excited to do some castle road trips. I also managed to stop by an exhaust shop to get a resonator thrown in. Some over spray I still need to paint black showing. Need to do a good scrub underneath.
Sounds the same, but less drone and noticeably quieter. Need to go for a drive to test it out on the highway still.
Forgot to take interior pics. But got the passenger seat and seat belt installed, along with the center console. More to come this weekend as I have a few things left before shipping.

Coming Along! Guess I didn't know you were moving to Europe! We've wanted to move to England but we're not sure whats gonna happen with their economy. How long will it take for the car to get there?

Re: ACOTE's 68 2000
I'm guessing around a month, they said I get one car for free, so of course I had to bring my Datsun. I'll be driving down to LA to ship it off in a few weeks. I'll be getting a daily car as soon as I get there. We're very excited that it's finally happening. I'm relieved I have everything finished enough to pass inspection and get my German license plates for it. Pretty standard stuff, no leaks, all lights washers and wipers, stops evenly.Gregs672000 wrote: ↑Fri Mar 15, 2019 10:18 am Coming Along! Guess I didn't know you were moving to Europe! I'll try to figure it out next week. Would be nice to plan some spots to see. I'll be getting a hotel and flying out the next day to make it easier

Re: ACOTE's 68 2000
Almost done with the interior. But I polished up one side with the foam pad and it looks much better. Got the emblems on the shiny side and put the side trim on. I still have the original trim but it might be too dented to save the door pieces, so I went the stick on route.
Took my time to make sure it was straight
Close but it got tweaked a little after checking with a straight edge
And there we go! Car is looking shiner too! Made sure there is no interference with the door to front fender.
I'll have to take better pictures outside later. Still needs a little silver paint on the edges.

Re: ACOTE's 68 2000
Made it to LA and she's all good to ship off. I got a little careless with the engine bay wash and ruined the alternator the day before. But a lifetime warranty at autozone and a quick swap I had it charging again. Drove great the whole way, that I-5 gets rough. The wind and engine noise above 60 mph is still unbearable, but I had a set of noise cancelling headphones that let me drive 75+ the whole way. All while enjoying some sweet tunes.
The new headlights made the trip feel much safer compared to the stock ones I was rocking forever. It was good timing because I just took it all apart and cleaned/painted it, the inspection went pretty quick. I'll keep you guys updated when I pick her up. Going to be a busy weekend flying out there!

Have fun in Germany. I'm sure you'll have plenty of adventures out there. Do you get a chance to select where to PCS to after Spangdahlem?
