Re: Hard Top Weatherstrip - Update w/ Part Numbers
Thanks for this info! I have the same top sitting around but no weatherstripping (what little was on it when I bought it was nearly powder disintegrated).
This should be of great help in getting it install-ready.
I do wonder however if you know what weatherstripping the windows to the top take? Mine does still have some of that, which might be serviceable...but really should be replaced if I can find suitable replacement.

Re: Hard Top Weatherstrip - Update w/ Part Numbers
If you look at the back part of my 1968 snug top hardtop (which still needs fiberglass to be sanded of to make it flush to the body) notice the area just above and inside of the outside lip. That is where the old weatherstrip came off. The strip was glued to the inside horizontal edge. I do not believe that I will have a big enough lip for the push on type strip. The two new strips are close to what came off. I am thinking that I will need about 3/4" height on the new weather strip to allow for compression and keep the fiberglass top off my paint. I have removed the aluminum strips on my top and replaced it with new fiberglass. I have also made the top a smooth finish.

I would love to see how Phil did his stops. I think all of us with hard tops would find it of great use to help prevent or at least slow down damage to the paint.
Hint hint Phil
and that’s also something that could be added to the tech wiki
Cheers

The simplest thing I think to do is to go by a tint shop and have them put down the 3M autobra material. That clear vinyl stuff is pretty tough and lets the paint color show through.
"When all else fails, force prevails!" Ummm, we're gonna need a bigger hammer here.

Re: Hard Top Weatherstrip - Update w/ Part Numbers
I went with these for the rear of my snugtop:
3/4 high 9141K137
L shape 9141K119
The glue is still drying but it looks like it will work. It has a metal trim riveted to the surround that won't allow a clip on bulb like the other hardtops.
This way ended up not working/ looking nice so I changed the order and it came out much nicer.
I'm replacing the front with what the other posts used
Changed it around to lay like this: (I'll get a proper pic later)
The big bulb should be enough to prevent damage but I didn't want to take a chance and the L strip finishes it off nicely. I'll give more info tomorrow after it dries more. Some spots might need re-gluing.

Alex,
Congrats, that looks like a good solution, and thanks for sharing the info, but that's not a Smoothline (aka Parrish wannabe).

oops you're right, changed it. I think it's called a snugtop. Came in 3 styles of windowless, round, and trapeziod windows.

Re: Hard Top Weatherstrip - Update w/ Part Numbers
Anyone know which one(s) would be best for the short windshield hard tops? Specific item #s would be great if possible. (my style is in my profile pic)
Thanks!
Thanks!
