That looks alot like Alvin's car on the wrapper. The mats look nice.

John Baker I do believe there is some legal precedence, Winchell Vs. Mahoney, right?!

EDIT: I don't think their is legal precedent (at least not from me) It appears to be an image they pilfered from Speedhunters, albeit flipped like so:

I mean, shouldn't I at least get some free freakin' Coco Mats?

Yeah, it could be complicated. They would likely say you gave away your rights to the image, but I’d come back with the fact That the “release” never contemplated someone turning a buck on a product that features your car. They would also say you’re not the injured party, but whoever owns the picture.

However, If I was you I’d confront them, tell them “how dare you!”, then offer to release its use for some mats. :)

You really should file for 10% of every sale ad that features your car as the "you can build this" photo.. I mean, i know most of those dont sell for much, but it could probably buy dinner a couple times a year..

I work with a museum. Warner Bros paid us $800 to license a couple of photos for set dressing for a really bad movie. I watched the movie and they never even used them. Too bad, it would have been the best part.

I followed advice from a few members here and contacted Coco Mats. They have been very nice to work with so far.

Just received my Coco Mats. I had altered the pattern to my satisfaction. Did not want the mats to overwhelm the interior, so I went with the nylon material. The color goes very well with my interior. They look great! Pat
