Rear disc parking cables
I have rear discs on my roadster from 82 - 83 200SX and I need the rear parking brake cables. Have not had any luck locating new cables. I have shortened other cables before with a little spot weld on the end piece, but it's not my favorite thing to do. Any ideas?

Where would that be? The local guy here won't touch parking brake cables - it's all about the lawyers.

Re: Rear disc parking cables
This is the tough part about swaps, as in essence a new owners manual / parts list is being created.
The question would be at what point does the 200SX system start to integrate into the roadster cable/handle set-up?
In terms of having cables made, it is all about liability, but the forces we are talking about pales in comparison to the tension force in sailboat rigging, and they have lots of options/grades of cables, (although most are not geared towards flex, just axial loading)
They are experts on end fittings though, so short of finding something in a junkyard tour, that would be another resource to try.

Re: Rear disc parking cables
I have had parking cables made locally by a commercial truck upfitter type of shop. Maybe try calling around in your area.bobd wrote: ↑Tue Jan 22, 2019 6:44 am I have rear discs on my roadster from 82 - 83 200SX and I need the rear parking brake cables. Did you check the Nissan dealer? I got mine from the dealer, but it was a while ago. Maybe NLA now, but I think they can do a part search for any in a dealer stock or something like that.

He knew just by looking at them!
I ordered a couple of Dorman brake cable repair kits & I'll see what I can do with them. It's not like there are any hills around here to worry about rolling down.
