help pulling apart the steering column from steering box

Post by roadstermike »

I am pulling off the body of my 67.5 and the last thing I need to do is pull apart the steering column from the steering box. Any suggestions on how to do this without damaging anything? I pulled the screw from the spline and tried to pull it out of the fitting before the u-joint but nothing happened. Is there anything under the dash that needs to be removed?

Mike,

Someone just posted the exact same issue on the roadster mailing list. Here's the link:

I tapped very gently with a tierod seperator (picklefork).
Wood wedge will work too
