Looking great Alex, I painted a mustang white over white primer, found it a little difficult to find my lines, but looks like you nailed it. Can't wait to see the clear on it.

I just kept going in a pattern to not miss anything. Worked a treat!
Waiting is killing me. Just touched up a few bad spots, once dry I'll be tacking it and clear

Well that was stressful
Love the color. I always tell my friends it's an almond, because Yellow is not a good name.
Loved doing the base coat, but for some reason I couldn't get the hang of the clear. I'm still happy will just need some fixing later

Clear just didn't seem to spray as well as the base coat. But second coat I got the settings ok more fluid/pressure.
Now the problem shots, again not stressing as I wasn't expecting a crazy good show paint job for my first time in a garage.

Looking at it now that it's dry I think it's all very fixable. these were 2 thick coats of clear. all the problems popped up in the second one and the evened out a little. Once It's back driving I'll be wet sanding and buffing. After a good drive

Looks great, and it has to feel amazing having done it all yourself. I have seen miracles worked with polishing, so I bet it’ll turn out better than you expect!!

It does look good for a garage paint job. I know very little about painting as I am a novice myself but I have read there are different tips to use for primer and for basecoat/clear. On my guns as I have two-the blue basecoat/clearcoat comes with 1.3mm and 1.5mm tips and the silver primer gun has a 1.8mm tip. So trying to spray basecoat/clearcoat with the tip you used for spraying primer could tend to get a bit frustrating. I believe that was your main problem. Some one on here recommended SATA guns for basecoat/clearcoat but they are pricy. Mine are DeVilbiss. I plan on building a paint booth inside of my shop when I go to do this. Going to paint the engine bay, inner fenders, inside tub and trunk and then put the body back on the frame. Then I will prep and paint the main body tub after masking everything off. Will paint the doors, trunk lid, fenders and hood off of the car separately. I am sure I will screw something up but basecoat/clearcoat seems to be pretty forgiving and easily fixed all things considered. I love the pale yellow and you sold me on the fact that is the color I want my 67 to be. Nice job all around Alex. I am sure you will be able to fix your minor blemishes. You should be happy.

Alex, a cut and buff will do wonders for your paint. I've been told that if you don't do it pretty quick than the paint will harden and it will be much more difficult. I can't remember how long, but seems like it needs to be done within a week. I was pretty pleased with my paint, also my first time and done in my garage, until I did the cut and buff and saw what a difference it made. Even if our paint may not be perfect, there's a huge gratification knowing you did it yourself! Good job.

Yep trunk area cleared. I used a smaller gun to get into the tight spaces. Has a few marks from my dirty air hose touching, but it's the trunk so I'm not worried.
Booth was ok I think the main problem was the exposed ceiling 4 walls and a roof would be perfect. I've seen people use wedding tents with fans and lights put in.
Doors and fenders are next. If I had the space I would have painted them.

Yeah I have a cheap set of guns from amazon, I've heard good things about devilbliss. Primer gun is a 1.8 really laid on the paint thick.
the 1.4 gun worked great for base coat, it did get cold before clear coating so a space heater before spraying might have helped a bunch. First spray of clear looked like rain drops with the same settings so maybe the temp messed me up more than I thought. After some adjusting I settled with I'd rather it be too thick and orange peel instead of being spotty. Still hard to tell if it was dirt for the fisheyes or something in the air line. I'm just glad they're in the second coat. Got to buy some new door and trunk hardware as mine is all red.
