1966 Bringatrailer

Post by Bakertron »

Hello all!

https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1966- ... oadster-8/

I'm Bakertron, and the Roadster above is now mine :) Happy to have her and I'm already getting right into it! I'm going to put up a post in the tech forum here pretty soon, as I've got some interesting gremlins in the car that I'm trying to pin down... yes, I bought Scott Scheeler's AWESOME trilogy and have been scouring the FSM. Still need some good old fashioned advice :)

A little bit about me, I'm a 34 y/o engineer who LOVES to take things apart and put them back together. I gave up my bicycle building addiction about a year ago, but still have 8 bikes laying around to remind me. Looking forward to wrenching on this beauty into the future.

Thanks for having me! Also, any insights you may have on my car (good bad or indifferent) are MUCH appreciated. My Roadster knowledge is in it's infancy, but I'm greatly looking forward to knowing this car inside and out. Cheers!

Welcome.
Well your learning curve is going to be a lot shorter if you are an engineer!😊

Sadly-Linda has passed away 2022. She was the 311's den mother and drove the first Rare-Parts ball joint project. RIP.

I think your car was well bought! Lots of tastefully done personal touches in the spirit in which the car was made. I don't count myself as a true purist, but I definitely usually prefer factory colours - but I remember seeing this car on BaT and thinking it was a well balanced and carefully executed build. Welcome aboard. You have come to the right place...

welcome

suggest you update you avatar with year/model/location and update the registry.

looks like a good buy, I know Ohio is a big state, byt there are quite a few owbers in that (large) neck of the woods.

best thing , drive the crap out of it now, while weather is permitting, then you have the winter to address whatever turns up.

And post here what you want. Often someone will have what you need.

Welcome! My recommended first purchase would be a battery hold-down. Don't want that sucker jumping up and welding itself to the inside of your hood!

Cheers
James

PS: My in-laws live in Yellow Springs - great area for motoring.

Welcome! Looks like a very solid purchase congrats! Definitely recommend checking out the tech wiki page frequently and also many misc parts are still available thru Nissan directly and typically cheaper too. Enjoy!
