Late in 2017 I went ahead and spent the rest of my ‘mid-life-crisis-car-fund’ on a Morgan 3 Wheeler. It’s a blast to drive and a very analog experience despite many modern aspects; fuel injection and a modern 5 speed transmission. If other ways its very spartan, no heater, radio, dead pedal, or a real windshield.
A big attraction is that, since it’s legally a motorcycle, I get to go to the front of the ferry lines. Near Seattle the traffic is just too bad these days for good fun drives, but once you go to the Washington peninsula there’s less people, some great roads, and much adventure waiting to be had. In a car, getting on a ferry here can mean a 2-3 (or more) hour wait on a Summer day; like I said, too many cars with all the software success this city holds now.
The M3W is unlike anything else, and for a vehicle that can’t be logically justified, I’d recommend one for anyone that can.
Here is a great story about a 41 hour drive in one from LA to NY. http://www.thedrive.com/travel/922/i-se ... -3-wheeler My favorite line is, “…a contraption known only for reliably falling to pieces and the murder of fools.â€
I’m gonna need a bigger garage!
First on, first off the Ferry:
