Re: Hello Again from Chicago
I'm glad to have another roadster in Chicago as well. I'm not doing a ground up restore, so hopefully I can make some descent progress this winter and get her on the road by spring.

Re: Hello Again from Chicago
Welcome Dark,
Good taste, bikes and roadsters! I'm in Racine, just up 94. I have a 67.5 that I stripped down for my racer, and so have some of that stuff still around. I also have a '66 2L (conv) that needs a little work to be a driver, and a 66 frame and shell. I'll be losing the storage on the 66 2L in a year or so, so plans need to be made for that. Let me know if you need something, I may have it, and some experience too. Certainly a number of cars in the area
Also in the stable are a '60 BMW r60 - rider, 82 V45 Honda that I keep around in case I have a crazy idea for the engine (gokart?), and a 65 harley topper scooter all there, just need then engine re-assembled. So many projects, so little time. email is probably the best way to get a hold of me @ jake7140 @ yahoo . com
PS: With your skills, maybe you could make up a nice 4-carb setup for the roadster, maybe a bank of flatsides feedin it?

Re: Hello Again from Chicago
Well, it's spring in Chicago. Just checking in to see how your winter restoration went with your new roadster? Did you get her running? I fired mine up last week & took her out for a spin. Can't wait for some warmer weather to drop the top & cruise.darkbane wrote:I'm glad to have another roadster in Chicago as well. Hope to see you at a local cruise night this summer, keep us posted on your progress.

Re: Hello Again from Chicago
Unfortunately I was not able to make the progress that I wanted to. The motor is locked up and I'm looking into my options for rebuilding it at the moment.
I just spent the whole day yesterday relocating the car to a different garage. The landlord of the garage I was renting decided not to rent the garage anymore, so I had to move it to a different garage where I'm not going to have as much space to work on it. So for the time being, I will source parts and get things ready to have the motor rebuilt. Until then, she sits partially dismantled.

Darkbane,
Wasn't someone up in your area doing an SR20 swap? If you can get that engine, you can have a driver while working on your original block. Just an idea.

Re: Hello Again from Chicago
Hello my name is Charles Godwin and I have a question regarding your roaster. It’s been many many years since I owned a 67.5 and I sold it in Chicago in 1982. Can you please provide photos the serial number of the car and found out from your parents who they purchased it from I would really appreciate this
The guy who purchased the car drove a Porsche over I believe on a Saturday or Sunday and he works at the bank in downtown Chicago

I'm not sure where my dad purchase the car, but I'm pretty sure it wasn't in Chicago. I always hear he picked it up and a junk yard.
