E brake
What do I look for when my e break hasn't worked ever yet ? I've done the adjustment on that bar down below with the two nuts .. if I pull the break , I can spin the back tires with my hand , if up off ground ..

Re: E brake
Have someone pull up and down on the e brake handle while you crawl underneath. Probably a pivot that is stuck somewhere

Re: E brake
have you adjusted the rear brakes themselves??
And, if you can't find someone - just use your cell phone video camera to shoot under the car.
How far does the brake handle go up??
When you refer to ''that bar below", to which bar are you alluding??
The "rod" that joins the e-brake to the mechanism on top of the differential??

Re: E brake
You might just check to see if the rear brakes are really working at all, even when you press the brake peddle (mine weren't). It may be that you just need to adjust the brake shoe adjustment knob at the top back of the wheel.
Basically put the car up on stands. gently spin the wheel and tighten the adjustment bolt (turn in like a regular screw) until it just slows (engages the brake) then back it off one or two clicks until the wheel is free. Do both sides, then check the peddle and hand brake. Should be better.
good luck

Re: E brake
It was going all the way up before I adjusted the "rod " now it does about 4 clicks maybe 5 .. feels like it's working but it'll roll still ...mraitch wrote: ↑Fri Sep 07, 2018 5:34 pm have you adjusted the rear brakes themselves??

Re: E brake
Lorna,
Simplest way to adjust
Find a 1/4 drive socket with an Allen key that fits the OTHER end
Saves stripping the square adjuster.,
And as stated tighten up toll wheel doesn't rotate and then back off till it does.
Repeat, and then adjust enrage.
Then of course, I assume your brakes have some show left

Re: E brake
The adjustment, around the back , is square so you put something over it and adjust. I use a short junk drive extension and some vice grips
